Hey Y’all! I was born and raised in Mississippi. I graduated early and moved out to Utah when I was 18 and met my goodlookin’ driver 9 months later. Believe it or not, but I used to HATE hiking and didn’t understand what the purpose of just “walking along a trail to no where”, until Scott made me walk to a Waterfall. Oh wow… okay, I could walk a long way for THAT. He’s slowing brainwashed me by making me extremely comfortable with all his cool gear. Eventually, and believe it or not, I think I now love hiking and camping more than he does!

I am here as your guide to help you get past and overcome whatever is holding you back from going on your next adventure. Ask me anything.

WANNA KNOW A LITTLE MORE ABOUT ME?

MY INTERVIEW:

WHAT I GAVE UP FOR FULL TIME TRAVEL: I quit my job of 15 years at Magleby’s.  I spent 13 years starting the catering company from scratch and building it into a successful event planning company. I have so much pride in my work and so much love for my coworkers I now consider family.  So stepping away from them and financial security was hard to imagine at first, but so much easier when I looked at what my dreams really were.  Family Adventures.  I was spending more time and energy on creating someone else’s dream than my own. Most importantly, work was taking me away from my family. I chose to be with my family more, and see some amazing places along the way.

DREAMS OF: Overlanding all 7 continents – Guide group outdoor excursions – Swim with whales

WANTS TO LEARN: Speak Spanish – Become a writer – Drive on technical terrain – Start & Run a non profit to help others

ANTICIPATED EXPERIENCES ALONG THE WAY: Backpack the W circuit in Torres del Paine, Chile – Hike to see Guatemala’s Fuego volcanic eruption

FAVORITE GEAR: Platypus hydration bladder or my Alite chair

LATEST LOVES: Açaí bowls – Avocado Toast – Mango – Foster the People

FAVORITE THING ABOUT THE VAN:  The fact that it is a Pass Through. I get up and down 1000 times during a drive to get everyone what they need. Being able to get up and WALK around instead of crawl over each other to get snacks, drinks etc, makes my job so much easier and more enjoyable.

MOST NERVOUS ABOUT: Homeschooling and Shipping across the Darian Gap.

WHAT DO YOU LIKE ABOUT LIVING ON THE ROAD?  Besides being together, I don’t have to dress up anymore or wear make up.  Its pretty amazing…
